This institution, Himalayan Academy, Soreng aims at developing the child in totality. Highest priority is given to character building on sound moral principles. Boys and girls while leaving the school should be characterised by a sense of responsibility, punctuality, courtesy, honesty, generosity, obedience, loyalty and diligence.

The institution aims at making its own contribution towards fanatic transformation of present day social conditions so that the principles of social, justice, equality of opportunity, genuine freedom and respect for religious and moral values enshrine in the constitution of India may prevail and the possibility of living a fully human existence may be opened to all.
